The incumbent will conduct inspection of investigative case files, with the use of law enforcement investigative databases and operational case management processes. Also serve as System Control Officer to assist in troubleshooting technical issues.

Duties

The duties and responsibilities for a Compliance Specialist (Law Enforcement) generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as organizational consultant in developing quality programs, procedures, and methodologies to improve the effectiveness of work methods and management controls for the organization programs. Researches analysis techniques in relevant literature to identify methodology to improve processes. Collaborates and provides advice and guidance to resolve, implement, or manage program issues oriented to the methodology and tools for the desired outcome to ensure compliance with program requirements. Consults with management to prepare detailed plans, goals, objectives, requirements, and criteria for complex or high-value management processes and systems. In conjunction with Compliance Officer, conducts management surveys and audits for program, ensuring that management policies, practices, and procedures are consistent with the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. Performs analyses of data and information, draws conclusions and recommends solutions. Conducts follow-up reviews to verify compliance with actions recommended by the Inspector General and GAO audits of funds.

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Compliance Specialist (Law Enforcement) at (GS-1801-11), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). Specialized Experience for GS-11: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-9 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as providing guidance to internal and external parties, answering inquires involving policies, programs and procedures; Formulating automated reports and written analysis of office policies regarding routine and complex matters; Reviewing and conducting, workforce documents to certify compliance; Monitoring and maintaining existing policy and regulatory guidance for use by others within or outside the organization. OR Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or a LL.M, if related. OR Combination of education and experience which the specialized experience is described above but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described above, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
