This position will serve as a student trainee and will receive training in analytical methods used to develop objectively based information in support of administrative and programmatic planning, development, evaluation, and managerial decision-making. On-the-job training assignments provide a practical understanding of the organization, programs, policies, and objectives of the agency as well as furnish experience in the application of principles, procedures, and work techniques.
Duties
As a Student Trainee (Financial Assistant), you will:
Provide assistance and analytical support to senior analysts and/or supervisor in a variety of matters relating to new procedures and policies related to asset sales.
Assist senior analysts and/or supervisor in reviewing and summarizing information pertaining to reverse mortgage portfolios for the use of senior analysts engaged in more complex work.
Aid senior analysts and/or supervisor with a variety of ad hoc assignments and activities within the office.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-05 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Reviewing documents to verify data; AND
Creating and maintaining spreadsheets/databases to input and manipulate data.
OR Education: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school study or a bachelors degree. (This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.)
OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the education requirement must equal at least 100 percent. For example: the completion of 50% requirements for a bachelors degree and 6 months of specialized experience
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
Education
Pathways Student Internship Program Education Requirement:
A. Must be a current student at an accredited high school (public or private) or in a home-school program*; college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, or trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled) pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. *Secondary home-school curricula must be recognized by the State or local government oversight agency.
B. You must maintain student eligibility and enrollment for the duration of the internship. If you do not maintain eligibility and enrollment, you are ineligible for this program. C. Every semester, you must maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
