The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Materiel Management Flight and Fuels Management in the Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS).

Duties

Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Materiel Management Flight. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents the Materiel Management Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Directs the Materiel Management Flight that is responsible for stocking, storing, issuing, managing, inventorying, and inspecting DoD supplies and equipment for the installation.

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
  • An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain the proper security clearance required of the position as a condition of employment.
  • Incumbent must obtain/maintain Nuclear Weapons-Related Materiel (NWRM) Certification throughout the term of employment. Ref: AFT 20-110, Chapter 9.
  • This position is designated as a key position TAW AFT 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations.
  • Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
  • This is a Centrally Managed Position in the Administrative and Management Positions Career Field. PCS will be paid in accordance with JTR Vol. 2 and applicable Air Force Regulations.
  • "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1 year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
  • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency (Cond't)
  • (Cond't) and continued through full resumption of all functions. IAW, DoDI 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series 0346. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CURRENT FEDERAL APPLICANTS: Current Federal Employees must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level. Specialized experience must include knowledge of logistics management operations in supply and transportation policies, practices, and techniques including knowledge of military and commercial transportation programs storage and materials equipment policies, preservation, packaging, and cargo movement and materiel management. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of federal and DOD regulations and guidance pertaining to nuclear weapons-related materiel. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CURRENT NON-FEDERAL APPLICANTS: Non-Federal employment applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience must include knowledge of logistics management operations in supply and transportation policies, practices, and techniques including knowledge of military and commercial transportation programs storage and materials equipment policies, preservation, packaging, and cargo movement and materiel management. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of federal and DOD regulations and guidance pertaining to nuclear weapons-related materiel. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS FOR CURRENT FEDERAL APPLICANTS:Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS FOR CURRENT NON-FEDERAL APPLICANTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of logistics management operations in supply and transportation policies, practices, and techniques including knowledge of military and commercial transportation programs storage and materials equipment policies, preservation, packaging, and cargo movement and materiel management. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of federal and DOD regulations and guidance pertaining to nuclear weapons-related materiel. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and apprise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options concerning cargo movement and materiel management. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
