This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Research Services, Electronic Records Division (RRE). The Electronic Records Division is responsible for accessioning, processing, preserving, and providing access to the electronic records in the custody of Research Services. The position serves as a senior archives specialist, who provides advice and guidance to other staff and management on major initiatives unique to the electronic records custodial functions.

Duties

As an Archives Specialist, you will: - Lead major initiatives supporting the unique requirements related to the accession, processing, preservation, and accessibility of the electronic records in the custody of Research Services. - Serve as a technical expert for support systems unique to the Electronic Records Division. - Organize, develop, and implement multiple projects related to the establishment of physical and intellectual control over permanently valuable electronic records transferred to the legal custody of the Archivist of the United States and the physical custody of Research Services. - Serve as a project leader or chairperson for working groups, task forces, committees, or similar units pertaining to archival processing, preservation, or reference.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Researching and applying rules, regulations, policies, or practices to gather facts for making recommendations; AND - Participating in and/or leading project teams; AND - Communicating with customers internally and externally to provide information and/or resolve issues; In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
