This position is located in the Pacific Northwest Region, Region 6 on the Freemont-Winema National Forest. See the "Locations" list for the specific duty location of this position. Duties

Analyze data and make recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations. Use sound management concepts to resolve complex problems and situations. Work with senior leadership to address long and short-term goals and strategies. Meet with internal and external customers to obtain information, coordinate administrative studies, and review operations. Plan and coordinate contract administration activities to address long-term, technical service contracts. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement: One-year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12. Qualifying specialized experience includes meeting two or more of the following: Worked as a senior specialist that required knowledge and skill in performing staff analytical, planning, and evaluative assignments concerned with the administrative and operational aspects of organizations, programs, services and management; Planned and conducted administrative and management, studies, evaluations, and improvement projects; Performed budget planning and tracking; Participated in hiring and outreach; Performed property management responsibilities and tracking of property; Participated in personnel management; and/or managed a Fleet program. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
