As a Psychologist, the incumbent will perform valid and reliable diagnostic interviews, and clinical efficacy scales and utilize structured instruments and assessments with healthy volunteers and patients. The incumbent will also perform cognitive and neuropsychological assessments for research studies with healthy volunteers, patients. The incumbent will confirm DSM-V/5 diagnoses with all available clinical data.

Duties

The incumbent will serve as the Psychologist within SNTMD, to include duties but not limited: Provide highly skilled counseling services to clients with difficult and complex problems of personal adjustment or vocational rehabilitation. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other related professional services, activities and functions to aid in vocational placement and rehabilitation. Provide psychological services to a special rehabilitation unit such as a sheltered workshop, incentive therapy program, or special exit rehabilitation program. Provide professional training to psychology students. Work with state, city or private organizations in seeking solutions to particularly complex vocational rehabilitation or adjustment cases or problems.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for a Psychologist, GS-0180-13 position: You must have successfully completed a 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major or equivalent in psychology. In addition, in order to meet the qualifications requirements for a Psychologist, GS-0180 at the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: serving as a psychologist with full professional responsibility for research findings, interpretations, decisions, and reports; providing recommendations regarding the development or improvement of psychology programs; designing and evaluating psychology research studies; and presenting scientific information to both scientific and non-scientific personnel. While at least a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major or equivalent in psychology is required, a valid Psychologist Licensure from a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States is preferred. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
