Duties

Serves as the Installation Automotive Crafts Facility Manager with responsibility for operation and implementation of activities in a diversified self-help automotive maintenance facility. Provides technical knowledge in automotive maintenance and repair. Analyzes major trends and projects potential changes in program emphasis. Plans and develops shop activities of the Auto Crafts Program. Develops SOPs. Submits budgetary requirements for both NAF and APF for equipment and supplies and labor. Performs vehicle maintenance on NAF vehicles. Schedules and assigns work of lower graded employees. Provides one-On-one instruction and guidance to patrons. Manages a large RV and Boat Storage lot, Abandoned Vehicle Auction, DIY Auto Skills, Auto Detail Shop, and Towing. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements Are: Demonstrated work experience that include the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work of the position to be filled. Possess specialized knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, to include repair and maintenance. Work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Applicants meeting the following will be considered Highly Preferred: Possesses 2 years of experience as an MWR supervisor Possesses 2 years of experience as a engine mechanic (auto, heavy machinery) Possesses 1 year of experience with NAF budgets Possesses 1 year of experience with CPMC planning and acquisition (Capital Purchase/Minor Construction) Possess great customer service skills **Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first.
