About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/ARSTRAT, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2 Security Division, Security Team, Colorado Springs, CO 80916. Duty Location: Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado.

Duties

Serves as Program Security Officer for Operations and Support or as the Command's Assistant Special Access Programs Control Officer for the security of all Special Access Program (SAP). Directs and executes the establishment, implementation and dissemination of policies, plans, and procedures for Special Access Program and multi-disciplined security program, such as industrial, physical, personnel, Information etc. Performs analytical, operational, advisory, and evaluative work to protect/safeguard classified and sensitive information. Advises management and procurement officials of the requirements of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). Serves as the Command Top Secret Control Officer, prepares and disseminates local information security guidance. Develops and administers Command-wide security awareness training programs.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be prepared to support the USASMDC/ARSTRAT Continuity of Operations (COOP) Program and OPLAN by moving to and operating from an emergency relocation facility as a member of one of the commands COOP Support Teams.
• Must be able to obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within first two years of employment.
• Performs occasional temporary duty (TDY) travel 30% or less of the time.
• May be requires to submit a counter-intelligence polygraph (CI Poly) and will be subject to additional CI Polys at any time.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
