You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Radiography) in the Quality Verification Division of the Technical Department, Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC) of STRATEGIC WEAPONS FACILITY PACIFIC.

Duties

You will be responsible for implementation and maintenance of complex and broad range of quality assurance surveillance plans. You will expert comprehensive and thorough knowledge of the full range of principles, concepts and methodology applicable to a broad range of diverse systems and technical procedures associated with missiles and missile components. You will evaluate contractor/civilian/military compliance when working with Government systems and procedures associated with the handling, processing, transportation, and storage of Ready For Issue (RFI) missiles, launcher and guidance components. You will participate as part of a multifaceted team to perform Root Cause Analysis in order to assist in identifying contributing factors when a procedural issue is identified that requires further investigation and clarification. You will verify contractors and Government performance of manual and computerized operational and environmental checks of electronic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems, subsystems, assemblies and components. You will review and evaluate products conformance thru observing and analyzing: test data results; accompanying documentation and quality records to verify compliance with specifications; and related requirements including quality of workmanship. You will provide guidance to the Nuclear Weapons Accountability Division Personnel regarding aspects of the Low Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW), and NRMP programs, by interpreting and implementing policies and operating procedures. You will inform the Radiation Safety Office (RSO) of the status of radiological affairs at SWFPAC to ensure radiation safety practices and procedures are adhered to.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position is subject to provisions of the Nuclear Weapons Personnel Reliability Program, and as such, is considered a Test Designated Position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain qualifications and certifications as an Industrial radiography Radiation Safety Program (IRRSP) X-RAY Radiographer through the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading quality assurance and radiographic inspections to ensure compliance and radiation safety for an organization.
