This position is national in scope and acts as a senior project manager in the Forest Service, State & Private Tribal Forestry, Forest Health Protection (FHP), Forest Health Assessment and Applied Sciences Team. This is a Washington Office (WO) position, but is located in Fort Collins Colorado. Duties

May be required to prepare and/or deliver presentations. May be called upon to lead task teams at FHP/WO level. Brief project teams, including both federal and contract employees, to ensure compliance with Project Management Office policy and procedures. Serve as an active team member and interact with other project managers, including reaching out to request or provide information or assistance. Establish and maintain relationships with persons outside the agency which may include consultants, contractors, or business executives. Work with stakeholders, including account managers and program managers to ensure that requirements are adequately identified, analyzed and managed.

Requirements

Qualifications

Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as a majority of the following: Managing, leading, planning, and developing agency projects; executing the scope, schedule and budget of projects and contracts; and providing procurement/acquisition support. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
