Duties

Examines personnel records to determine eligibility for Foreign Language Proficiency Pay (FLPP). Processes actions to include but not limited to name changes, regimental affiliation actions, applications for Joint Domicile, and applications for enrollment in the Married Army Couples Program. Examines personnel records to determine eligibility for awards and processes paperwork for awards and medals. Responsible for administering the military separation and transition program. Responsible for maintenance of files in the officer and enlisted records sections which are comprised of permanent party, students, National Guard, and US Army Reserve service members. Employee prepares and assembles promotion packets for centralized promotion boards. Perform a variety of tasks to include, record screening, eligibility, and counseling to ensure Soldier is qualified and meets regulatory requirements for Permanent Change of Station (PCS). Provide assistance to military personnel to ensure that appropriate policies and regulations are in compliance with regulatory guidelines. Counsel individuals on general entitlements, options, and out processing requirements.

Requirements

  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% or less of the time.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or specialized requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a wide variety of clerical duties, processing personnel transactions with the ability to establish, maintain, and retrieve information using automated data systems, programs, and/or software. OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
