About the Position: This position is located in the U.S. Army Installation Management Command, USAG Fort Stewart, Directorate of Human Resources, Military Personnel Division.

Duties

Verify and process updates to military personnel files. Perform clerical and technical duties relating to the separation of military personnel. Ensure completeness and proper forwarding of records to appropriate areas. Identify gaps or inconsistencies in records and initiate actions or interviews personnel to obtain needed data. Perform duties related with in-processing/out-processing, military records, awards, reassignment, and other military actions. Retrieve data from information sources, both manual and electronic for use in answering questions ,responding to correspondence, or preparing reports or briefings. Researches historical documentation, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on initiatives to improve customer support. Implements improvements that are entirely within area of responsibility. Serves as final reviewer prior to review and action by a board, action officer and others.

Requirements

  • A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.
  • Temporary duty travel of 5% may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Minimum Qualifications GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Executing military In/Out processing (coordinating arrival, processing Soldiers, maintaining automated systems and issuing clearing papers); Processing reassignments; Reviewing and implementing assignment instructions; Preparing orders, deferment deletions, AWOLS and drop from rolls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement for GS-06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
