About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Duties

Serves as a Server Administrator Team and Project Lead. Designs and develops database structure that meets user requirements for applications, Enterprise data warehousing, and business intelligence. Directly responsible for the configuration, availability, security, and integrity of multiple network enclave High Availability (HA) Structured Query Language (SQL) server, multi-tenant server environments. Plans and carries out difficult and complex assignments in the following specialty areas: Application integration with On-line Transaction Process (OLTP) database using .NET or Java. Possesses broad knowledge of automated systems in order to respond to and analyze requests for new or modified MIS and Business Intelligence (BI) functional requirements. Provides technical consulting support regarding the server environment to support various applications. Developing new methods, approaches and procedures in Enterprise Server Administration, Applications Administration, and service delivery; providing advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues. Demonstrates and explains operations and capabilities of software for existing or proposed applications. Directly responsible for the configuration, availability, security, and integrity of multiple network enclave High Availability (HA) Structured Query Language (SQL) server, multi-tenant server environments.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET SCI eligibility.
  • This position is DoD8570-01-M, IAT 3; and requires the applicable Computing Environment (CE) certifications. Commercial Computing Environment certifications accepted/obtained within first 6 months of employment.
  • Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.
  • May be required to carry a Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) cellular device.
  • Position requires employee to complete locally identified recurring Information Assurance Security training.

Specialized experience includes designing, engineering, configuring, and providing Identify Access Management (i.e., Microsoft Active Directory or Entra ID) and Configuration Management (i.e., Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager or Intune Configuration Manager) capabilities by operating and maintaining Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers; installing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex problems; assessing, remediating, and mitigating system vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance to configuration policies and standards leveraging technologies such as Tenable.sc, Nessus scanner, and Elastic. Developing and analyzing requirements, plans, and documentation for current and future information system implementations.
