About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an Antiterrorism Officer (Garrison) for DPTMS (Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security) in Fort Riley, KS.

Duties

Develop crisis management plans in response to potential terrorist attacks. Protect and secure personnel and property from terrorist activities. Monitor the core vulnerability assessment program to identify potential liabilities throughout the organization. Secure funding to meet security and protection requirements. Provide guidance and training regarding antiterrorism and force protection procedures to personnel throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Obtain and/or maintain a top secret clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. This position will require a pre-placement urinalysis and is subject to random urinalysis testing IAW DA guidelines, and a DA 5019-R must be completed.
  • Recruitment/Relocation/Retention Incentive may be authorized.
  • Defense National Relocation Program will NOT be authorized.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). In order to qualify at the GS-11 level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Analyze potential risk mitigation plans to increase safety and protection of personnel; 2). Recommend courses of action to improve the antiterrorism program; and 3). Provide safety guidance to personnel to prevent unauthorized disclosure of classified data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09 or above). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementAnti-Terrorism/Force ProtectionAttention to Detail Time in Grade Requirement for GS-12: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Education

Education Qualifications for GS-12:

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Education Qualifications for GS-11:

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Criminal Justice.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
