You will serve as a PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the Department of the Navy, National Security Integration Office (NSIO).

Duties

You will provide coordination and liaison for all correspondence, briefing products, administrative, training, personnel, and staffing actions related to professional matters within the Directorate. You will provide advice and assistance to develop strategies, execute programs, and implement procedures that support the Director, in analyzing, developing, and implementing organizational and workplace program objectives. You will identify problems; weigh relevance and accuracy of information; evaluate alternative perspectives/solutions; make timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions. You will assist in the management and execution of Program Security related operations. You will coordinate and manage collateral security functions related to Directorate operations, and assist with Special Access Program and Sensitive Compartmented Information-related security matters. You will execute collateral physical, information, and personnel security activities in accordance with policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will perform security functions related to access, accountability, handling, marking, and storage of classified systems and information.

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must currently possess and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to possess and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be subject to a random Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph.
  • A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Advising on all administrative matters pertaining to Directorate operations such as establishing and communicating priorities and requirements of processes and functions; Experience with advanced problem solving complex issues and applying critical thinking such as evaluating and choosing courses of action that balance interests of the mission and stakeholders; Coordinating operations across a cross-functional team with internal and external customers and leadership.
