Duties

Inspect all phases of carrier/agents’ performance at Service members residence during, pack, pickup and delivery of personal property. Brief service member on entitlements and resolves problems. Report significant discrepancies immediately to the supervisor. Prepare written report of each residential inspection. Inspect contractor or government warehouses to determine proper storage methods. Perform witness reweighs, mobile home inspections to negotiate one-time-only rates, warehouse inspections, loss and damage inspections.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires a Tier 1 Background Security Investigation.
  • Position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid State driver's license.
  • One-year probationary period required unless already completed.

To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Working Conditions: Inspection work is performed in a variety of physical and climate conditions including outdoor areas; residences, warehouses, freight terminals or moving vans without heat or air conditioning and with poor lighting. Some overtime work may be required, especially during the summer peak-load season. Wears protective clothing and equipment as required.
