You will serve as a EXECUTIVE SECRETARY in the Navy International Programs Office (NIPO).

Duties

You will utilize office automation systems and various software packages and perform a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support the Senior Executive Service (SES). You will maintain comprehensive knowledge of SES policies regarding matters affecting the organization and contribute to the Command's public relations policy implementation. You will make travel arrangements and orders, coordinate transportation, hotel, car rental reservations, itineraries, visas, and submit travel vouchers utilizing the Defense Travel System. You will advise staff on executive policy, procedures and scheduling matters, and provide information regarding scheduled organizational activities to personnel within and outside the organization. You will review outgoing documents or correspondence ensuring accuracy of grammar, format and spelling in preparation for SES signature. You will draft dictation into letters, endorsements, messages, office policies, and reports, ensuring correct grammar, spelling, format, etc.

Requirements

  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or NK-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties (e.g., manage tasks, review documents, organize, schedule, public relations); Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of Senior Executive Service (SES) policies; Communicating and coordinating tasks to provide Senior Executive Service (SES) with administrative support; and Making travel arrangements for the Senior Executive Service (SES) and submitting travel vouchers utilizing travel systems (such as Defense Travel System (DTS)).
