This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Library Buildings and Grounds, Assistant Superintendent, Facilities Operations Division, Maintenance Branch, Plumbing Section. The Pipefitter serves as an expert in performing troubleshooting, repair and installing plumbing systems and components in work sites that include monumental historic buildings with a complex infrastructure.

For WG-10
Ability to perform journey level pipefitting work without more than normal supervision. (Screen-out Factor) including:
Inspects and troubleshoots piping system equipment and fixtures;
Utilizing tools and equipment of plumbing and pipefitting trade such as: sliding squares, measuring tapes, dividers, chalk-lines, plumb bobs, templates, star drills, grinders, flanges, hand and power pipe threaders, cutters and pipe wrenches; and
Testing system and equipment after completing work for proper circulation, flow, pressure and leak-free joints.
For WG-11
Ability to perform expert level pipefitting work without more than normal supervision. (Screen-out Factor) including:
Installing, troubleshooting, and replacing faulty Direct Digital Control Energy valves;
Planning and laying out the installation, modification, and repair of new and existing piping systems and equipment; and
Utilizing the BAS system to troubleshoot, start/stop systems, pumps, motors, verify operating parameters, and make adjustments to meet building operational requirement.
