About the Position: This position General Supply Specialist is located U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Logistics Readiness Center, Joint Base Myer - Henderson Hall. It is a 5 minute distance from Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station or 10-15 minute walking distance from the Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station and accessible bus transportation. The installation is approximately 7 miles from Washington, D.C., and a short distance from express highways.

Duties

Serves as a General Supply Specialist and Hand Receipt Manager for the Installation Property Book Officer. Supports the Installation and TDA Hand Receipts within the Joint Base Myer/Henderson Hall (JBMHH) Property Book. Responsible for supply, property accountability, authorization, acquisition, receiving, distribution, storage, utilization, maintenance, reutilization, and disposal. Serve as the Functional Administrator for Global Combat Support System Army (GCSS-A). Updates Primary hand receipt holders accounts to reflect movement of property to, within, and from hand receipt account areas. Conducts investigation to determine cause of inventory discrepancies. Verifies whether items requested are available from local stock or excess inventories. Responsible for maintaining vulnerability assessments and internal control reviews. Responsible for bar coding and regulatory requirements, as well as ADP, personal computers, and programming techniques. Serves as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR), coordinating performance specifications, statements of work, quality assurance plans, and requests for contracts. Serves as Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder.

  • This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.
  • Must be able to successfully obtain Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certification within 24 months of starting this position and maintain for the duration of employment in this position.
  • Must submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE- 450, upon entering the position and annually.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year equivalent to at least GS-7 level in the federal service, which includes which includes, supply, property accountability, authorization, acquisition, receiving, distribution, storage, utilization, maintenance, reutilization, and disposal, reviewing documentation such as purchase order, receiving reports, reports of survey, hand receipt transfers; reviews requisitions for authorizations; accepts supplies and services under the contract; use Government Purchase Card (GPC) to makes purchases from approved vendors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Combination of Education / Experience : Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (NOTE) Transcripts must be provided at time of application. OR A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
