About the Position: Represents the U.S. Army Garrison Presidio of Monterey Command Group as the USASA CR Site Manager by synchronizing and integrating the day-to-day garrison support to and tenant activity operations for a single mission site, which is geographically separated from the Garrison. Provides administrative program direction, liaison and coordination with to various staff involved in a variety of Commands and functional program areas.

Duties

Provides oversight and integration of site Base Operations Support (BASOPS) activities and operations for a single mission site with complex tenant organization relationships. Evaluates policies and directives from USAG POM or higher headquarters and advises on actions necessary to implement on the site in accordance with (IAW) Garrison directives. Presents recommendations to the Command Team or Garrison Directors for modified organizational structures to implement new initiatives and/or change in mission as well as enhance management methods. Presents and discusses a range of subjects such as levels and change in support services provided, cost efficiency of government operations, privatization of government activities and facilities, and local cooperative initiatives and efforts. Keeps the tenant activity leadership informed on matters relating to the general management and effectiveness of all IMCOM/Garrison programs and BASOPS services including those not located on the site. Gives speeches, representing the Command Team at their direction to represent the Command leadership to local interest groups to promote community relations and may brief at higher-level conferences and seminars. Participates along with other Garrison sites in the reviews of single and multi-year budget plans based on program changes. Advocates for and executes necessary support functions that enable tenant Mission success. Provides liaison, coordination, synchronization between multiple echelons of command including but not limited to the Senior Commander and staff, Senior Responsible Officer and staff, The Garrison Command Team.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires the Professional to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station, including to USAG Presidio of Monterey for meetings, appointments, boards, etc. approximately 25% of the time.
  • Position may be designated as Mission Essential in order to perform essential duties defined as critical and essential regardless of weather conditions, emergency situations, or general dismissal.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
