Duties

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the DC Air National Guard. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: You must meet the minimum military rank as specified in this announcement. Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Minimum Military Rank: E-4/SrA Maximum Military Rank: E-7/MSG AFSCs: 2A3X4 Other requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within One (1) year of appointment. This position is located at the 113th Wing, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Duties: Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Completes operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) which are linked with integrated systems and LRUs which are independent or associated with nonintegrated systems. Isolates unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment including automatic test equipment and Flight Line Test Systems (FLTS) Monitors the operation of complex, interrelated systems, analyzes operating trends, proposes preventative maintenance down time to assure continued operating capability, and recommends components for overhaul or engineering evaluation for disposal Troubleshoots operational malfunctions and analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests. Identifies faulty parts and repairs to level authorized. Conducts aircrew debriefing to determine the nature of system malfunctions. Documents all discrepancies and maintenance actions performed by inputting information into the electronic records information systems (i.e.: CAMS, IMDS, GO-81, REMIS). Provides training to lower graded personnel concerned with the repair of integrated avionics systems. Provides training to newly assigned personnel regardless of grade level.   • Must have the capability to lift, carry, push, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Must have the physical capability to stand, climb, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and stoop over extended periods of time
  • Must possess a valid state driver?s license to operate government motor vehicles, for the state in which he or she lives or is principally employed, in accordance with Air Force and Air National Guard Vehicle Operations Directives.
  • The employee must complete the hazmat certification within six months of employment and complete hazmat recertification every two years.
  • The employee must maintain the position?s mandatory AFSC skill level and continue on-the-job proficiency requirements.
  • The employee must maintain local network access IAW AFMANs 33-152, User Responsibilities and Guidance for Information Systems and 33-282, Computer Security.

Education

ANG ENLISTED: To qualify an enlisted applicant for hire consideration into an ANG Dual Status Technician FWS 2610 position, award of the compatible Air Force Specialty Code, Craftsman Seven Skill Level; Journeyman Five Skill Level; or, the Apprentice Three Skill Level, with the position's compatible unit position assignment and a high school diploma, are mandatory requirements. Completion of high school courses in physics, algebra, trigonometry, and computer principles is desirable. Higher academic college courses and degrees that are aligned within the FWS Series 2610 type of work tasks are also desirable.

For the WG-2610-12 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, the mandatory military training requirements are the completion of an Air Force Three Skill Level Technical Training School and successful On-the-Job training that will result or resulted in the award of a compatible Five Skill Level AFSC.

For the WG-13 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, the mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least one military professional education course program.
