About the Position: The incumbent works under general supervision of the Senior Installation Drug Testing Coordinator (DTC) with duties training Unit Prevention Leaders (UPLs), maintaining statistical data and quality control procedures, serving as technical advisor to unit commanders and processing urine samples for shipment to laboratories.

Duties

Assists in receiving, collecting, recording, labeling and shipping of urinalysis samples. Maintains the urinalysis program testing of military and civilian personnel. Supports the consolidation and analyzing of urinalysis program statistical data. Facilitates training dealing with urinalysis and chain of custody. Informs the Alcohol and Drug Control Officer (ADCO) and commanders of all positive and confirmed results. Develops budget estimates for manpower, training/education, and supplies. Ensures unit collection procedures of units are inspected.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent to this position will be certified by the Department of Army DTC Certification course within 9 months of thier hire date. Failure to obtain/maintain certification may result in administrative actions and/or removal from the position.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) administering drug testing collection procedures; 2) collecting, packaging, shipping and tracking of specimens from drug testing; 3) maintaining results and statistical data on drug test participants; and 4) maintain drug testing supplies and equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes InformationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
