About the Position: Position is located within the Directorate of Public Works (DPW), Engineering Division, Contracting Administration Branch, Fort Leavenworth, KS.

Duties

As a Construction Control Representative, you will perform duties to include but not limited to the following: Perform a variety of engineering duties involved in the maintenance, repair, and improvement of installation real property facilities through construction contracts. Review plans and specifications of projects prior to procurement to ensure they are constructible and provides comments to project manager. Review and approve or disapprove contractor submissions. Perform on-site quality assurance inspections of general construction projects. Analyze problems which arise during construction, formulates solutions independently, prepares requests for proposals to modify contracts, and negotiates modification costs with contractors.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required up to 5%.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). -OR- Education: Two full years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as engineering, construction, or industrial technology.
