About the Position: Serves as an Equipment, Facilities and Services Assistant (Food Service/Motor Vehicle Operator) with the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY.

Duties

Order, receive, issue and store equipment and supplies. Report on equipment deficiencies; compile budget data for procurement of replacement equipment Inspect and inventory incoming supplies and equipment. Coordinate equipment repairs and installation of new equipment. Operate a military vehicle to transport food service equipment. Complete and maintain standard forms and requisitions specific to dining facility equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • This position requires the incumbent to work variable work hours and days due to operations (seven days a week) of dining facilities, which include sometimes working evenings, week-ends and/or holidays, to include mandatory overtime.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate class of driver's license for military vehicles up to and including 2 ton capacity trucks.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting with ordering, receiving, issuing and/or storing of food service equipment or supplies; 2) Assisting with performing equipment and/or supply inventory for a dining facility; and 3) coordinating installation, replacement or repairs of facilities equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-6).
