About the Position: This announcement is for a TERM appointment not to exceed 13 months. Duties

As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Act as inventory manager responsibility for and the authority to plan, organize and coordinate supply stock and equipment levels. Responsible for requisitioning, reviewing and inspecting supplies and equipment. Provide support to move, maintain, inventory and dispose of supply items, equipment and furniture. Participate in systems analyses of programs and problems associated with supply systems. Maintain all property accounting records for the Directorate. Review adjustments to records for accuracy and completeness.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary duty travel (5% or less) away from the normal duty station.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of 8 years depending upon the needs of management.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience compiling data from automated inventory management systems; reviewing property accounting records for accuracy and compliance with regulations; and, performing a variety of clerical and technical duties to assist in tracking the movement of inventory. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. with a major study in business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
