The primary purpose of this position is to to serve as an instructor with responsibility to plan and conduct classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions using the lesson plan as a guide.

Duties

Conducts classroom, laboratory or field Instruction for courses. Presents material in accordance with approved lesson plans and course control documents. Makes adjustments in presentation or other instructional methods to resolve common classroom problems, to include those of student motivation and communication, as well as last minute schedule or student changes, student problem, equipment malfunctions, or lack of supplies. Monitors and evaluates student progress and performance. Administers approved written and performance examinations and assigns grades in accordance with prescribed criteria. Identifies failing students and prepares effective narrative recommendations of action required. Counsels students to identify and help resolve problems. As an instructor, maintains, updates, or develops training materials specific to assigned courses. Participates in complete course material development for assigned course or courses. Conducts research necessary to present new or revised course materials. Serves as subject-matter specialist in the development of learning programs specifically geared to individuals or groups. Accomplishes special projects/additional duties. Performs additional duties to include but not limited to the following: equipment/supply custodian accounts, automated data processing equipment & software control, computer security, building management, disaster preparedness, environmental & hazardous materials, test equipment monitor, technical order custodian, safety, fire prevention, dignitary briefings, minor operator maintenance, facilities upkeep and security. Inspects students for appearance.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series 1712 +IOR BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: For Community College of the Air Force GS-1712 positions only: Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, regulations and laws applicable to logistics management; ability to interpret interstate commerce laws and regulations for application to achieve national security readiness requirements for the wing; developing curriculum in relation to Logistics Readiness, identify training needs, presenting courses to civilian or military team members, scheduling trainings, documenting course completion, maintaining training materials, developing and implementing testing procedures, and assess effectiveness of training. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS- 07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques of instruction, of training aids and devices used in training programs, security program responsibilities. Knowledge of instructional design and materials development for assigned courses along with knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to project voice and be heard in warehouse environment, establish and maintain effective working relationships. Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects. Ability to comprehend and function, independently in and with the provisions of AFMAN 23-110 along with demonstrating a functional knowledge of other logistics related computer programs, i.e., WebClips and ILS-S Specialized knowledge of MRSP management and deployment procedures, of issue, stock control procedures and associated SBSS transactions. Specialized knowledge of contingency and manual processing procedures, along with knowledge of warehouse storage practices and material handling equipment, knowledge of supply computer programs and utility programs to include Discoverer and STAS. Specialized knowledge of Logistics Readiness and Regional Supply Squadron interfaces and operations. Specialized knowledge of the Air Force Standard Base Supply System, supply policies and regulations. Specialized knowledge of AF retail and wholesale supply such as D043, Fedlog, Wirunass . Skill in operating Window based computer applications and proficiency with Microsoft office suite. Skill in data inputs to include Technical Training Management System (TI'MS) and other student related documents. Skill in navigating and explaining the various functions, and effects of WebCats Attendance in Supply Craftsman course or Advanced Supply management course required. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
