This position is part of the Office of Legacy Management, Department of Energy. As a Records and Information Management Specialist, you will be providing expertise in developing, planning, coordinating, and executing projects that support the collection, management, and use of Federal records for LM's Environmental, Geospatial Data, and Record and Information Management programs.

  • This position does not support 100% remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 2 days per pay period.
  • You are required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of entering the position and annually (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing thereafter. Failure to test or a positive result on random drug tests conducted after appointment may result in removal from Federal employment.
  • A preliminary background check must be completed before a new employee can begin work. Current Federal employees or other individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check.
  • This position has been designated as Critical-Sensitive and requires a security clearance at the tier 5 level. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain this clearance level; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT GS-14: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting all of the following: 1. Applying rules and regulations related to information compliance strategies and utilizing records and information access (e.g., network and off-line storage, internet web pages, and physical records storage facilities). 2. Managing records at all stages of the records management lifecycle including creation, retention, maintenance, processing, use, access, release, safeguarding, declassification, final disposition. 3. Utilizing information and database management systems and software technical solutions to flow information across multiple systems within an organization. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
