This position is located in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Trademark Examination Policy (DC-TMEP). The DC-TMEP is mandated with developing, communicating, and measuring consistency with trademark examination policy to ensure that the USPTO is issuing high quality and timely registrations.

Qualifications

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Paralegal Specialist Series, 0950 Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-12. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and preparing schedules for the completion of work. Experience identifying ways to improve production or increasing the quality of the work being completed by subordinates. Experience drafting notices or decisions sent to affected parties regarding intellectual property rights and protections and/or the outcome of investigations or examination for nonuse cancellation.
