The Congressional Research Service (CRS) seeks a Research Manager for the Europe and the Americas Section in the Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Trade Division. The position description number for this position is 415488. This is a supervisory, non-bargaining unit position. The salary range indicated reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.

Duties

The Research Manager leads the Europe and the Americas Section in the development of research and policy analysis relevant to congressional needs. Topics covered by the section include U.S. relations with countries in Europe and Latin America, including the Caribbean; U.S. relations with the European Union, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Organization of American States, and other multilateral organizations; and migration, human rights, energy, transnational crime, counterterrorism, and security issues in Europe and Latin America.

Education

Basic Requirements

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
