The Program Support Assistant as the Program Support Assistant to the Community Nursing Home (CNH), Contract Adult Day Healthcare (CADHC) Program, and State Veterans Home (SVH) Program within the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NFSGVHS). The position is located under the guidance of the Social Work Service. Duties will consist primarily of program support, financial management, and office automation work.

Duties

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Responsible for completing authorizations, consult management tool box, utilizing tracking sheets, requesting records from community partners and attaching documents in Health Share Referral Manager (HSRM). Will Serve, as appropriate, as manager of the fund control point clerk of the Community Care Network Community Nursing Home (CNH), Community Care Network and Community Adult Day Health Care (CADHC) Program Fund Control Points for the Program Fund Control Points. Audit invoices received from vendors and after audit, timely and efficiently process payments by electronically forwarding to and communicating with Fiscal Services for payment, ensuring interest payments are not incurred. Develop rapport and maintain effective relationships with hospital personnel at all levels (i.e. professional staff, technicians, administrative and clerical personnel) as well as staff specialists in other VA hospitals and outpatient clinics and numerous private hospitals and crisis centers. In addition, drafts and subscribes correspondence, memorandums, reports and schedules. Incumbent must possess the ability to apply moderate analytical methods to interpret data and recognize errors and deviations. Communicate with Fiscal Services and Community Care Network Staff, as appropriate. Audit, track, review, and process invoices for authorized invoices. Prepare, modify and route all authorizations of care of approval status. Trach leave time and process electronic time cards of Social Work Service Staff. Review correspondence from others for accuracy and completeness. Develop standards or form letters and reply to inquires. Maintain computerized automotive databases. Perform customer service and other duties assigned for the proper and timely treatment of patients. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-430PM EST Compressed/Flexible: Not Available Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To quilify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the close date of this announcement, 08/25/2023. GS-06 Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Completing authorizations for referrals and invoices. Maintaining financial spreadsheets. Communicate /Reports information with appropriate healthcare personnel. Utilizes office automation software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and computer patient record systems. Collecting and entering data, process payment electronically. Process typing proficiencies. Experience and knowledge of program and contracting. Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary. Occasionally, light physical effort may be required, such as that involved with walking, stair climbing, and carrying of light office items. The work is performed in an office setting which require normal safety precautions typical for offices and meeting rooms. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
