This position is located at Child and Youth Services Custodial at Fort Knox, KY. These are Regular Full-Time and Part-Time positions that are eligible for leave accrual and benefits. Duties

Serves as working leader of 3 or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work. Ensures that needed equipment, supplies, and materials are available. Checks work in progress and when finished for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines. Urges or advises other employees to follow supervisor's instructions and to meet deadlines. Works along with other workers, setting the pace performing non-supervisory work of the same kind and level as that done by the group led.. Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment. Operates industrial equipment to clean.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position.
• Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
• A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable).
• Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required.
• Must be available to work evenings, nights and holidays as needed.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check.
• Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
• Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• Must meet physical requirements of the position.
• Travel to on and off post locations may be required.
• Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination.
• May be required to lift and carry items up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications

Must meet the physical requirements of the position. Required is prior work experience that provided the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties listed above to include the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the trade, to keep the assigned work area neat and clean. Able to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess good customer service skills in order to interact with people. Preferred is responsible work experience in the hospitality industry that demonstrated the ability to perform the duties stated above with minimal supervision. Ability to Lead other employees.
