This position is located in National Records Center, National Records Center Executive Staff. As a Deputy Director, you will manage and lead major programs, tactical goals and objectives, activities and operations within the NRC.

Duties

Collaborate with internal and external leaders, stakeholders and customers including other federal, state and local government entities to educate, negotiate solutions, and promote relationships built on trust, consistency, and results. Lead the vision, strategy, execution, and serve as the performance-improvement champion of the National Records Center. Serve as a change agent and create a culture of continuous improvement that drives forward changes that increase organizational effectiveness. Promote and support a smart and creative environment for all team members, conducive to motivating others to think of new creative ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the National Records Center operations, programs, and activities. Communicate openly and transparently when sharing information with employees and demonstrate good judgment in enforcing division policy and effectively communicate in high stress situations, whether it is upward, downward, or across the organization. Make projections related to management improvement, productivity improvement, management controls, and long-range planning, including developing guidance on techniques for management and methods improvement. Provide technical assistance and direct support to senior management in all matters relating to the application of planning systems and management programs to meet mission requirements.

GS-15: In addition to the requirements at the lower grade level(s), you qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of major program operations using detailed analysis of statistical data. Leading teams in the development, communication, and execution of strategic visions or plans that improve business processes, service standards, or program delivery models. Overseeing the development and implementation of various studies affecting program functions and work processes. Presenting clear and concise technical briefings to senior-level management, to include analysis, conclusions, alternatives, and recommendations on policies, projects, or studies of national impact. Establishing partnerships, increasing collaboration, and effecting improved outcomes for customers by working together with senior executives from across the federal, private or public sectors.
