This position is located in the Office of the Associate Administrator for Strategic Sealift.  Maritime Administration (MARAD). This position is established to develop and direct policies designed to document significant historical events primarily concerning MARAD’s National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) program and the Ready Reserve Force (RRF).

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade.To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include: Experience in performing a diverse range of duties involving historical research, analysis, interpretation, and preservation. Experience working with officials from various organizations. Experience working on budgeting, contracting, project management, property management and leading a team. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Technical Competence - Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues. Analytical - Uses knowledge and experience gained to examine things in detail in order to discover more about them and provide guidance and advice. Written/Oral Communication - Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Education

Basic Requirements

  1. Degree: history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history.

or

  1. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
