The position is located within the Security and Hazardous Materials Safety (ASH) organization and may be assigned to a geographical location under the purview of the Office of Investigations & Professional Responsibility (AXI). The mission of ASH is to ensure aviation safety, support national security, and promote an efficient airspace system through the development and administration of policies and programs.

Duties

The incumbent serves as a Security Specialist performing a combination of routine, multiple, and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional in the International Travel Security Branch, AXI-340. Applies experience and detailed knowledge of security matters to accomplish assignments and to develop plans and techniques to improve programs and policies. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Experience includes: Experience using software, programs, and platforms to review and analyze travel security inquiries, prepare reports, and provide travel security briefings to all levels of stakeholders. Experience creating documents using plain language and consistency that can be clearly understood by a wide population, e.g. policies and procedures. Experience reviewing requirements and content to be used for training materials.OR3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Education must be directly related to the position.To qualify for this position at the H-band you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV G, FG/GS 10/11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Experience includes: Experience using software, programs, and platforms to review, analyze, prioritize, and effectively conduct travel security inquiries, preparing reports, and provide travel security briefings to all levels of stakeholders. Experience creating and implementing documents using plain language and consistency that can be clearly understood by a wide population, e.g. policies and procedures.
