About the Position: Position is with US Installation Management Command, US Army Garrison Fort Hunter Liggett, Directorate of Human Resources, Military Personnel Division, located at Fort Hunter Liggett, CA. Fort Hunter Liggett is located on the Central Coast of California between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Fort Hunter Liggett is located in a rural area so a vehicle is a must.

Duties

Prepare military personnel documents for submission. Conduct in and out-processing for military personnel and dependents. Answer customer inquiries in regards to various military personnel matters. Operate the Directorate of Human Resources (DHR) ID Card section. Type and prepare letters, memorandums, and briefings as required. Operate office automation equipment to maintain data files and records.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime.
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves updating records through a Military Human Resources database, perform filing, typing, and military personnel records management. Experience creating identification cards using a system such as Defense Enrollment Eligibility Report System (DEERS) is preferred but not required. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Applicants who are current federal employees or who are eligible for reinstatement may be able to qualify with experience equivalent to the second lower grade level (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
