About the Position: The purpose of this position is to provide a wide variety of clerical and administrative services for the site office. This position requires extensive use of automation equipment and a wide range of software programs to provide support in timekeeping, purchasing\procurement, supply management, travel, personnel management and inventory control.

Duties

Maintains the branch credit card insuring its proper use with Fiscal Law guidelines and prompt timely payment of bills. Monitor records and documents of procurement actions to ensure compliance with procurement policy. Reviews correspondence for compliance with agency correspondence directives. Compose official correspondence such as memorandums and business letters from draft, verbal instruction, or software programs. Prepare reports using word processing software, spreadsheets, databases, or presentation software to provide managerial support. Performs digital file management such as scanning paper documents, uploading documents to data management software, saving, and organizing file archives. Serves as Timekeeper for the office.

Requirements for GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Provide all aspects of administrative support within an office; (2) Maintain time and leave records for office; (3) Purchase supplies and equipment using a purchase credit card in accordance with office guidelines and policies; (4) Prepare and monitor documents required for procurement actions using a financial management system such as Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS); and (5) Maintain training records and databases, prepare and coordinate training requests. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
