About the Position: This position is located at the Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Battalion, Lakehurst, Ocean County, New Jersey.The Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Battalion is responsible for Army recruiting of quality Soldiers, both officers and enlisted, in the State of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.

Duties

Prepares and processes a wide range of military HR actions in support of the Battalion, associated companies, and recruiting stations. Prepares, updates, coordinates, and responds to inquiries regarding requests for evaluations, promotions, reductions, transfers, and discharges. Uses automated military HR systems such as Electronic Military Personnel Office (EMILPO) and Army Recruiter Information Support System (ARISS) to process actions and obtain/maintain data and information. Processes operational moves and Soldier reliefs. Reviews all personnel actions for accuracy and timely submission and tracks until completion. Processes incoming and outgoing official mail and maintains accountability of stamps. Orders and issues postage stamps. Prepares and maintains functional files per Army Record Information Management System (ARIMS).

Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a qualified typist which requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer LiteracyCustomer ServiceTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
