Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Housing Program Assistant, you will: Receive telephone calls and visitors for the Supervisory Project Manager. Through the incumbent's knowledge of HUD functions and organization, tactfully screen incoming calls and answer questions on complex but non-technical matters or refer them to the appropriate Team member. Receive applications and proposals for assisted and unassisted HUD FHA Housing Programs. Review for proper and complete documentation and for compliance with HUD and multifamily housing requirements. Provide information of HUD application procedures to applicants and others in response to telephone calls, letters and personal inquiries. Evaluate projects for proper maintenance and compliance with the Regulatory Agreement. Analyze the Management Certification and related documents to determine the services in the management program that are covered, the management fee is reasonable and completes required necessary changes.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-07 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Receiving, logging, and reviewing correspondence according to established standards and procedures; AND - Responding to visitor and caller questions requiring standard responses and forwarding technical questions to appropriate office personnel; AND - Editing documents used in final drafts or presentations by management; AND - Monitoring and analyzing data to ensure accuracy for distribution and that timelines are met. Specialized Experience: For the GS-06 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Receiving, logging, and reviewing correspondence according to established standards and procedures; AND - Responding to visitor and caller questions requiring standard responses and forwarding technical questions to appropriate office personnel; AND - Editing documents used in final drafts or presentations by management; AND - Collecting, organizing, and retrieving data for distribution within or outside the office for review and analysis. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-07 you must have been at the GS-06 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-06 you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
