About the Position: Serves as Plans officer in the Plans and Operations Division engaged in the development and establishment of long-range installation plans to meet goals and objectives, and to execute peacetime, transition to war, and wartime missions.

Duties

Serves as Staff Action Officer for Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Protection Program Plans. Assist in interagency coordination and interagency synchronization required to sustain readiness for all emergency response programs for the installation, to include augmentation by community, state, and federal emergency responders. Determines necessary plan refinements and includes the more specific guidelines and fiscal matters to be considered during plan development, administration, and long-range implementation. Reviews and makes recommendations for synchronization and development of concepts of operation (CONOPS), standard operating procedures (SOP), and policy supporting installation-wide first responder and other crisis and consequence management plans.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience developing contingency plans to sustain readiness for emergency response programs; establishing criteria to identify and measure effectiveness of force protection operations and domestic/contingency plans; reviewing memorandums of agreement on emergency response; and resolving problems on emergency, domestic, contingency, and force protection issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
