Duties

You will serve as Nuclear Weapons Program Manager in the Weapons Department (SPK30) at the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWFLANT) Field Activity of Strategic Systems Programs. You will provide Strategic Missiles and Strategic Weapons System support to the Fleet and other designated activities and perform other functions and tasks as directed by higher authority. You will serve as the Assistant to the Weapons Officer, with responsibilities that runs parallel with the Weapons Officer, and can be tasked to act as the Weapons Officer in his absence. You will provide leadership and direction for effective accomplishments of Weapons Department functions. You will provide expert technical management (i.e ., planning, direction, evaluation) of Government and contractor efforts required to develop strategic/conventional weapons handling and control operations. You will provide technical and administrative supervision and management over strategic weapons handling and control operations; and direct planning and studies aimed at improving and updating work methods of the department. You will serve as the department 's expert advisor in dealings with personnel throughout the Fleet Ballistic Missile community regarding missile systems/Strategic Weapons System component handling and control matters. You will act as the first level supervisor to Division Heads in the Weapons Department.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and resolving problems associated with cranes and ordnance handling equipment for an organization.
