About the Position: This position is with the US Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division located in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.

Duties

Assist in planning, advising and executing unit deployments to include movement of personnel and equipment by air, land, rail and sea. Assist in classifying and routing freight shipments properly utilizing sound traffic management principles and best value carriers. Assist in receiving travel requests, reviewing official travel orders, providing guidance on entitlements, and arranging commercial transportation services for individuals and groups traveling CONUS/OCONUS. Assist in managing the non-tactical vehicle fleet and ensure reimbursement documentation is accurate and submitted to the Budget section in a timely manner. Participate in teleconferences, working groups and other communications with clear and concise support and customer service of the Transportation Division customers and stakeholders. Observe, document, and evaluate Transportation Service Providers (TSPs) or contractor performance in moving personal property of Department of Defense personnel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves responding to inquiries from and providing assistance to various customers, such as commercial carriers, their agents, contractors and component customers/clients; maintain data on non-tactical vehicle fleet in an automated system; classifying and routing freight shipments; assist in planning and advising on unit deployments to include movement of personnel and equipment by air, land, rail and sea and assisting with providing technical guidance related to facets of transportation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as as accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, and traffic management transportation. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AccountabilityCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Oral CommunicationPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
