This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is with ILSC ASSIST DIR FOR COMM SEC LOG ACT CRYPTOGRAPHIC SYSTEMS DIV FORT HUACHUCA, AZ. Telework Eligible as determined by the Agency's Policy. This is not a Virtual/Remote position.

Duties

Serve as a technical writer-editor and Equipment Publications Control Officer, involved with integrated logistics support and management of Communications Security , Information Systems Security Information Assurance , and Key Management equipment Formulate complex topics into plain language for a variety of stakeholders. Create and/or edit publications such as Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs), Army regulations and Process techniques sheets. Respond to field inquiries and requests from other agencies regarding the Organizations technical publications. Prepare documents, sheets, or papers based on research, subject matter expert (SME) input, or technical advisor observation of perfected certified processes, of Organizations policy. Develop technical documentation formats to assure conformance to military standards and customer specifications. Utilize publishing software and other software/hardware to prepare technical documents such as word processing, line art creation, and manipulation or similar assisted drawing software. Coordinate training requirements and schedules classes for commodity tech writing personnel. Provide guidance and clarification necessary to carry out the provisions of and compliance with the Army wide Publishing and Printing Program. This position is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics certification within 36 months for entrance on duty.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Developing manuals technical in nature covering the theory, operation and maintenance of a variety of equipment such as electronic equipment and/or systems; AND 2)Assisting writers in the interpretation of regulations, establishment of requirements , and in the submission of projects into the publications management system; AND 3) Analyzing information from a wide range of sources to write and edit technical publications such as the operations and maintenance of communications security equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11) .Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical CompetenceWriting
