About the Position: This position is located at US Army Installation Management Command, US Army Garrison Fort Hunter Liggett, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security Training Division Training Branch, Fort Hunter Liggett, California. We are located on the Central Coast of California between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The nearest towns to Fort Hunter Liggett are King City 26 miles north and Paso Robles 50 miles south.

Duties

Serve as Virtual Training Aides Devices Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) Training Instructor. Administer written and practical evaluations. Install virtual Training Aids Devices Simulators and Simulations (TADSS). Conduct training exercises in the use and functions of all virtual simulations available; both Programs of Record (POR) and non-POR systems. Service and troubleshoot Virtual and Live Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) that are Army Programs of Record (POR) and Non-POR systems. Maintain training records and utilize databases to track training certifications and data. Develop training schedules for rotational training unit. Provide advice and recommendations to commanders and unit trainers on unit training issues. Develop Training Programs of Instruction (POI), lesson plans and related material.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid state driver's license for operation of government vehicles in the performance of work.
  • The incumbent will be required to work flexible hours to include some nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position requires a medical examination prior to employment.
  • Incumbent may be required work outdoors or in a non-climate controlled indoor environment.
  • Incumbent will occasionally be required to operate a fork lift.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes providing instruction on a wide variety of virtual Training Aides Devices Simulators and Simulations (TADSS), monitoring and observing students during practical exercises, and providing technical assistance to staff and unit instructors to improve instructional competence. Experience that involves work related to operator maintenance, service checks, and diagnostic procedures is required. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Military Science, Education, or Project Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
