This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO- Info Systems and CIO. As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will plan, develop, implement, & coordinate Information Technology (IT) to delivering customer support in Communications Security (COMSEC).

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will: Provide all necessary program management and coordination in the delivery of customer support and exercises full technical and management responsibility for planning, administrating, budgeting, training, organizing, controlling, and reviewing the utilization of total project resources. Analyze findings and develop long-range plans for security systems that minimize risks, mitigate vulnerabilities, prevent security incidents, and insure systems reliability. Provide technical leadership on group projects and participates on project teams to implement systems security programs and to integrate IT security with other disciplines. Directs project staff and teams to install, configure, update, and troubleshoot systems and equipment for customers. Develop, recommends, and implements approved security contingency plans, incident response plans, and disaster recovery procedures. Represent the organization with Departmental and multi-agency work groups focused on issues of Communications Security (COMSEC) support. Serve as a COMSEC Manager and provide COMSEC support in many areas for the Treasury Departmental Offices and Treasury Bureaus.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the GS-13: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience is defined as Information Technology experience in IT Cybersecurity estimating security resource and reliability requirements, reporting and defining deliverables. Examples of this experience may include experience: -Analyzing IT security investments or portfolio; OR -Managing organizations IT budget; OR -Managing IT acquisitions, which can include working with IT professionals. Specialized experience for the GS-12: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience is defined as Cybersecurity Information Technology experience analyzing security resource and reporting requirements. Examples of this experience may include experience in: -IT project management; OR -Supporting the preparation and monitoring organizations IT budget; OR -Supporting the procurement of IT products and services. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1.
